An exhibition about waste and sustainability that takes a totally unexpected form: presenting The [Not-So] Convenience Store. While looking like a typical convenience store, it is instead stocked with more inconvenient but sustainable alternatives — driving home the fact that our culture of convenience is killing the Earth.
Recognising that the culture of convenience — think single-use packaging and disposables — is a big contributor to waste, our store takes a tongue-in-cheek jibe at the convenience store and invites a double take from all who pass by it. While looking like a typical convenience store, it is instead stocked with ‘inconvenient’ but sustainable alternatives that require more effort on the part of consumers.
